Science Olympiad is a competition in which WNY schools compete in various science and engineering events. Students spend several months preparing for their events. This year, the events that St. Greg's students have competed include Storm the Castle (building a trebuchet to launch a ball a given distance), Mission Possible (similar to a Rube Goldberg Machine), Green Generation (studying human impacts on our environment), and Disease Detective (students act as epidemiologists to study diseases). St. Greg's placed first at Regionals and have been invited to represent WNY at the state tournament which will be held in Syracuse, NY in April.
