WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – St. Gregory the Great School is thrilled to announce the official blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony for its newly renovated library and innovative book vending machine. The event will take place on Monday, October 12 at St. Gregory the Great School.
The new library and the state-of-the-art book vending machine were made possible through the generous contributions raised during St. Greg’s 2023 Great Dinner Auction, which raised over $50,000. These funds have allowed the school to enhance its learning resources and create an engaging and enriching environment for students to explore the joy of reading.
The book vending machine, purchased from local company Global Vending Group, Inc., is a first-of-its-kind for any school within the Diocese of Buffalo. This exciting addition to the library will reward students with tokens for exceptional behavior and academic achievement, which they can then use to "purchase" books from the machine, encouraging both learning and positive reinforcement.
"We are incredibly grateful to our school community and auction supporters for their generosity, which has allowed us to provide our students with these amazing new resources," said Mrs. Molly White, Interim Principal of Early Childhood and Elementary at St. Gregory the Great School. "The book vending machine is an innovative way to motivate students to develop a lifelong love for reading, and we are proud to be the first school in the Diocese of Buffalo to offer this opportunity."
The ceremony will include a special blessing of the new library space and book vending machine, followed by the ribbon cutting. School Leadership, students, teachers, and key contributors will be in attendance of this exciting celebration of literacy and learning.
