MISSION STATEMENT

"St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, a ministry of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Parish, invites

students to discipleship through a quality education in harmony with the gospel values and teachings of Jesus Christ." School Board Adopted, 10/31/2019

 

VALUES

Faith: The assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. St. Gregory the Great School is committed to instilling a reverence for God, by bringing the teachings of the Catholic Tradition to light. Faith propels our school community into a lifelong relationship with God through prayer, sacraments, and service to others. 

 

Love: The soul of the holiness to which all are called. Our school is committed to instilling the importance of loving your neighbor as yourself and the virtue of loving God above all things. St. Greg's is committed to teaching our students to use their time, talent and treasure to make a difference in the lives of others.

 

Hope: The virtue which compels us onward in trust of Christ’s promises and His unfailing help, strengthening us to live as children of God. We strive to instill the virtue of hope in our students by looking beyond a positive attitude or being optimistic and focus on God’s word and His promises.

 

Reconciliation: This sacrament “washes us clean” and renews us in Christ. We are committed to offering our students opportunities to receive this sacrament and we strive to create an atmosphere where forgiveness is modeled so we can become one with God.

 
TRADITIONS
Long-held, time-honored traditions are a valuable part of the culture and learning experience at St. Gregory the Great School. Traditions create a sense of community and strengthen the bond between students, alumni, parents and faculty.
 
BLESSING OF STUFFED ANIMALS
In honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, PK3, PK4, and Early Kindergarten students gather in the church or Mary's Grotto to celebrate. Each student brings their favorite stuffed animal for a special blessing from our parish priests.

3RD GRADE BLESSES 8TH GRADE

After 3rd grade students receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time, they have the honor and privilege of blessing our 8th grade students, nearing graduation. For 8th graders, this is a moment to receive their blessing and reflect on their time spent at St. Greg's.

PRAYER PARTNERS
Our Prayer Partner Program matches older students with younger students and nurtures relationships with a mentoring component in Early Childhood, Elementary and Middle School. Prayer Partners participate in service projects and other meaningful activities throughout the school year.

WALK-A-THON

The Walk-a-Thon is St. Greg's primary fundraiser for our school’s Athletic Association and supports numerous Athletic Programs, including team uniforms, equipment, referee fees and facility improvements. Walk-a-Thon boasts an Opening Ceremony, Pep Rally, celebrity guests, bounce houses, face painting, a magician, dunk tank and so much more. All students from PK3 through 8th grade agree that this is the most exciting day of the school year!
