Health Education
Students at St. Gregory the Great School take a Health Education course that teaches the importance of understanding our bodies and how best to take care of ourselves. This course also teaches the Catholic morals needed to promote and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is designed with the New York State Learning Standards for 6th and 7th grades.
The Middle School Health Curriculum focuses on skills such as Self-Management, Relationship Management, Communication, Decision Making, Planning and Goal Setting and Advocacy. These students will also have a solid understanding of knowledge in the areas of physical activity and nutrition, hygiene, tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, family life, injury prevention, violence prevention, diseases, and mental health.
